Claudette Altman has worked in the media for the past 30 years as a reporter, copy editor, magazine and newspaper editor, planning, overseeing, reviewing and evaluating content and layouts for various publications in Jamaica, Canada, and the United States.

She has been in charge of the daily operation of news departments, which included ensuring the delivery of accurate, engaging and informative stories, the supervision of more than 20 staff members, including reporters, writers, feature editors, and photographers. Her responsibilities also included understanding and complying with media law and industry ethical guidelines.

 

Claudette graduated from Regent University with a Master of Arts in Communication Studies and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, with a minor in Political Science. She also has certificates in Public Relations and Marketing.

 

An avid reader, she loves music, especially the Christian genre. One of her favorite courses at the university was Intercultural Communication and Relationships, fascinated by different cultures and the way people interact.

 

Claudette is currently a publication manager in Virginia Beach, VA, where she coordinates sales representatives, clients, outside vendors, photographers, artists, proofreaders and printers to ensure high-quality publications are produced on deadline and to required specifications.
